The 2026-2027 school year has officially kicked off and it has been a great first few days.  
 
Each week I will send notes to keep you up to date on happenings and reminders in our building.  Here are our notes for this week.

  • You may hear your student talk about the expectations at Barron for Safety, Responsibility, and Respect.  Through the month of September we will be focusing on Safety.  This includes doing several drills.  

  • This week we practiced a Fire Evacuation.  In the next few weeks we will continue by practicing staying in our classroom if there was a medical emergency or spill of some kind.   We also will practice a Run, Hide, Fight Drill.  During this drill I will explain to the students that there might be an animal or some type of threat that got into our building and we may have to hide, but if we can get out of the building we will run.  We practice this so that in the event of a real emergency students are familiar with following adult directions and where to go.  If you have questions about any of our drills, please don’t hesitate to reach out.  

  • If you have not completed the beginning of the year online paperwork in Infinite Campus, please make sure to do this as soon as possible.  It has been streamlined from last year and is a pretty quick process.

  • Our drop off begins at 8:30 am. Please do not send students to wait outside the building prior to this time, as there is no adult supervision available. 

  • We are still working out the kinks of arrival and dismissal and each day it is running a little smoother.  Please allow for a little extra time in the first few weeks.   

  • Monday there is no school due to the Holiday.

  • Tuesday, September 8th is an Election Day.  Barron will be open for school but our gym will be utilized for voters.  Parking at the Butler Street Lot will be for voters and so this may require some extra time and patience during pick-up time at the end of the school day.  If you typically pick up your student at the end of the day, please consider putting them on bus.  You can change their plan quickly in Pick Up Patrol or by calling the main office at 603-893-7067.


  • Birthday celebrations:  Students are recognized for their birthdays on our morning announcements and by a special treat and brag tag from the Principal.  Classrooms also do small celebrations for the month such as extra recess.  We do ask that you not send in food items to celebrate due to allergies.  We will recognize all of our August and September birthdays during September.  Our late June and July birthday are recognized during May and June.  

  • A huge shout out to our PTA who ran a great Back to School Night Event on Monday evening.   They also supported our teachers this week with an awesome back to school lunch on Monday.  Our PTA does some incredible things, please consider joining.  You can be involved as much or a little as you like.   The link to join can be found here: https://sau57.org/barron/handouts
    • The first Barron PTA Meeting will be Tuesday, September 15th at 6pm in the library! We will be discussing upcoming fall events.
    • PTA has also added a Little Free Library outside.  It is adorable as you can see by the attached picture.  
  • The Barron School Store is open! Shop youth and adult apparel between now and September 17th. All orders will be packed and delivered to the school approximately 2 weeks after the store closes, and will be sent home with students. 

  • As a reminder Barron School will host our Open House for parents and caregivers to get information about classrooms and routines on Thursday, September 17th.  This is an evening for caregivers only, students do not attend.  We have staggered start times to help alleviate parking issues.   PLEASE NOTE 5th grade families due to a conflict, our 5th grade teachers only will host their Open House on Wednesday the 16th from 5:30-6:00pm.  The schedule for Open House can be found here:  https://sau57.org/barron/handouts
 
  • The 2026 Salem Scramble, is being held on Saturday, September 26th.  The event is held on the fields behind Salem High School.  Students in grades 1-8 can register for grade-level heats with variable starting times. The event will be held rain or shine and the $20 registration fee is non-refundable.  Slots are limited and do fill quickly.  To register, sign up at https://runsignup.com/Race/NH/Salem/Scramble.
