Today’s update for the start of school includes:

School Dismissal
Dismissal begins at 3:00 p.m.
Car Pick-Up
- Kindergarten: Pick up in the back parking lot (Fraser Drive).
- Kindergarten students will hand an ID card to the adult picking them up.
- The adult must give this card to a staff member for verification.
- Grades 1-5: Pick up in the front parking lot (Butler Street).
- First Grade students will also receive ID cards to verify pick-up.
- Grades 2-5: Students will check out with a staff member once they meet their adult.
- Siblings: Pick up at the youngest child’s location.
If someone other than a parent/guardian is picking up, we must have notification (note, PickUp Patrol entry, etc.). Otherwise, dismissal will be delayed until we can verify.
Bus Dismissal
- Student bus information is now posted and available here: https://sau57.org/transportation
- Please anticipate for some delays the first few days as students and drivers learn routes. This is normal and usually resolves quickly.
- Boys & Girls Club: Transportation/program begins the first day of school.
- Main Street Learning Center: Begins first day of school for registered students.
- As reminder they will be posted on Friday, Aug. 28th at 3:00 p.m. on the front doors of Barron.
- If you are not able to get to Barron and want to access this electronically, you can find out your child’s teacher by accessing your Parent Square account after 3:00pm on Friday. Your student should be enrolled in their new teacher’s classroom at that time.
- 5:00-5:30 p.m. Visit classrooms (a great time for photos in the classroom as you won’t be able to enter on the first day.)
- 5:30-6:30p.m. PTA is hosting a family time outside on the playground.
As we prepare for the 2026-27 school year, we ask that families complete a once-a-year update of student and household information.
Only one parent/guardian needs to complete these forms, available on the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Please do this before school starts.
Even if nothing has changed, the Annual Update forms contain important permissions and approvals required for your student to start the school year.
This Annual Update is completely online and available through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

PickUp Patrol (PUP)
All Salem elementary schools use PickUp Patrol for:
- Daily dismissal plans (Default Plans)
- Dismissal changes
- Absences, tardies, early dismissals
Same-day changes must be entered by 2:25 p.m. (after that, you’ll need to call the office).
For New Families
- You will receive a registration email on Friday, Aug. 28th at 3:00 p.m.
- Both parents/guardians should set up an account.
- Register promptly, links expire after a few days.
- If you used PUP last year, your account is still active.
- Log in with your old credentials. Reset your password if needed.
- Re-add the app to your phone if necessary: PickUp Patrol Login.
Reminder: You can use PickUp Patrol for any dismissal change. Notes and phone calls are not necessary if the change is entered in PUP by 2:25.
Dates to Remember
- Monday, August 31st Back to School Event: 5:00-5:30 in the classrooms, 5:30-6:30 on the playground.
- Wednesday, September 2nd First Day of School for all students. Arrival 8:30. Please do not arrive prior to 8:30. School Hours are 9:00-3:00.
- Monday, September 7th Labor Day Holiday / No School
- Tuesday, September 8th is an Election Day, School is in Session and our gym will be blocked off for voting with no access to our main building.
- Wednesday, September 9thSchool Picture Day order forms can be found here:
- Thursday, September 17th Barron Open House for parents and guardians.
